Alfie
Now that my beloved Fender Bassman 100T is working again, I need to find a cab to properly complement it. At the moment it's running to a Barefaced Midget. Sonically this is fine, but visually it is a bit odd with the amp being larger than the cab. The flight case helps a bit, but I probably need a bigger cab. A Fender Neo 410 would look good, but after years of Barefaced I don't think I could go back to heavy lifting. Would a second midget next to the original work sonically (assuming I can find one)? Or am I best off exploring a Two10 or two Two10s or a Four10?
BassmanPaul
You have to consider what the impedance match requires. The amp is no doubt looking for a 4Ω load, check the back panel. What is the Barefaced cabinet's impedance. If it's 8Ω the amp will not be safe running at volume into the single cab. Lozz196
Barefaced 410 would be my suggestion, get the silver cloth version and it would both look and sound great.
Bill Fitzmaurice
Leave it on the road case. Whether you go with a second Midget or some other cab with multiple drivers you want them vertical, not horizontal. It sounds better that way, to you and to the audience. Downunderwonder
Slap a couple of battens on top of the amp and it will hold up a couple of midgets and sound even better.

Pea Turgh
The Four10 is 8 ohm. Pity, as that would look the nuts. A Two10 is switchable 12 or 4 ohms, so that would work, but won’t look as cool as the Four. Suppose you could put the Two10 on top of the amp flight case, then the amp on top of that? 😂
Alfie
The amp is switchable 2-4-8 ohms, so all options are possible. Would two Two10s act the same as one Four10?

True. I mentioned the concept to Alex way back before he started his company, it's called a 1.5 alignment, and he eventually employed it. It's not just to prevent comb filtering in the highs, it also improves horizontal dispersion in the mids. But a pair of 2x10 vertically stacked also has the advantage of getting drivers up higher so you can hear the mids better when close to the cab.
la bam
How about a Laney digbeth verticalcal 4x10. 4ohm, vertical alignment, cool looks, good price.
chris_b
I'm not a fan of buying cabs because of their looks. The amp looks good on the case. IMO your Super Midget sitting on top of a Super Compact is the best way to go. Or you can run the SC stand alone.

Phil Starr
Sonically fine or sonically something you love? If you like the sound and just want something that looks right then just put the cab on it's side and buy a second to go on top. You will keep the sound and the two speakers will be aligned. BassmanPaul
If the 4x12 is anything like it's 2x12 relation then it's worth about five quid for firewood and scrap metal!
