It took me several tracks before I realised that I was listening to Prince's greatest hits. I started to explain to my aunt that the singer was Greek to which she gave me a queried look. The vocals came in...in Greek. When I was a student in Plymouth I used to go to a Chinese restaurant that always used play Chinese language versions of British and American pop songs with Chinese instrumentation. It lost all of the snap, bite, and fury of the original and sounded like the Swing Your Pants version of the song. It was rather refreshing and cute, in a postmodern jukebox way. Roger2611 Posted December 27, 2022 Share Posted December 27, 2022 My wife and I went for dinner in a local restaurant and we noticed somewhere in the background was a lone guitarist playing an acoustic and singing gently along, nothing unusual until he launched into a fantastic rendition of Kraftwork's The Model...not a song I had ever considered as an acoustic guitar track!
