pbasspecial
Hi Guys, Recently bought a converted Ashdown Studio 12 combo minus the amp. I believe the speaker has probably been swapped out to for a Celestion one too. The cab is missing an input socket and has 2 wires with an unusual (for me) connector on the end. I wondered where you guys would recommend buying a dual speakon/ 1/4” input socket similar to the barefaced ones. Thanks in advance.
BassBunny
Just Google Neutrik NLJ2MD-H and take your pick. This is the Jack/Speakon Combi socket. Edited December 29, 2022 by BassBunny

BassmanPaul
Don't bother with the combi socket just get a four pole NL4 socket and wire the speaker to +1 and (-)1 and be done. !/4" phone plugs and sockets are very problematic as speaker connectors. 1
BassmanPaul
Usually when you check polarity with a 9V (PP3?) battery when the battery positive connects to the drivers positive pole the cone will jump out away from the magnet. To mount the SpeakOn socket you'll have to drill a 15/16" diameter hole. These drills are readily available with a half inch shank to fit an electric drill. Phil Starr
If you don't like soldering you could get one of these for £12 from Blue Aran, they also do a kit for £6 or sell the bits at a reasonable price.
