bubinga5
Fantastic interview with the master. This is up for debate as usual of course. I really do love this guys manner and the way he comes across. Then you get to his playing. Edited January 1, 2023 by bubinga5 6

ambient
I’m not a fan of his music. The guy's an absolute genius though.

TheGreek
Just finished watching it (on the telly) - so approachable and down to Earth. Inspirational doesn't cover this....Nice one Scott.
scalpy
Great interview. His first statement made me smile- biggest lesson in the whole thing. Scott did really well too understandably fanboi-ing a bit but his questions generated some good talking points. Loved the anecdote about Jaco’s wife! JPJ
Not a fan of Marcus's style but boy he can play. Really enjoyed that, what a lovely down to earth guy.
Linus27
What a fab interview and so insightful. Not player I listen to or a style I play but such a great and talented guy. Thoroughly enjoyed that.
lowdown
I've always liked Marcus' playing since I first heard him on the Lenny white and Dave Grusin albums back in the late 70's/early 80's. I find him to be be very musical and a top, top groover. He's a good writer and arranger as well with an excellent knowledge of what other Instruments are all about. Scott did great, he asked a lot of questions some (many) of us always wanted to know over the years. Marcus was very honest and humble with his replies. He cleared up a couple of things as well. Enjoyed the video and thanks for posting the link, BB5.
TheGreek
What I didn't realise was how he'd played on so many of my favourite tunes.
Barking Spiders
I'm a mahoosive MM fan. Def among my 5 all time fave players. Saw him and his band live at Cheltenham Jazz festival a long way back. Great gig. I don't normally watch interviews with musicians but I made an exception for this and no regrets. He's a top dude. Nice one B5. Edited January 2, 2023 by Barking Spiders

SteveXFR
That was actually quite interesting. I was expecting it to be ruined by Scott but he kept quiet mostly which is for the best.

I was reluctant to listen but was interested to hear Marcus Miller talk about his career. I'm not in to his music but his career has been really interesting. Fortunately there was no standard Scott Divine jazz noodling and I don't think he mentioned "holding down the low end" once

EJWW
An excellent interview. I like Scott and I've learned so much from his videos over the years which has not cost me a penny. His passion for our instrument is so obvious but I would offer only one bit of constructive criticism- he needs to shorten the questions as he does tend to ramble on a bit. Recommended.
oldslapper
Really enjoyed that. What I didn’t enjoy was the gas it induced. I now want a jazz bass to slap to b@ggery. I have no need for one and no context in which to”slappy da bass”, but boy I’ve now got an itch that only a tube of JB and rounds will sate. 😳 Edited January 5, 2023 by oldslapper
