Just finished a review of my 2020 EB Stingray Special HH. This video was a lot of fun to make, even with the fretbuzz from extreme temperature changes

Great demo, thanks for putting it together! Nice playing and clear narration, too.

 

I have an HH in speed blue and love it. I’ve recently been moving to a 5er but the HH Stingray Special was my largely unchallenged number one for a long while.

 

I typically found myself using either the classic Stingray bridge pick-up only or the two inner coils but I appreciate the flexibility. I’ve read about others having issues when playing slap; I don’t really play enough slap to have suffered with it but other’s mileage may vary.

Nice review.  I particularly liked the 3rd position, 2 humbuckers setting.  The neck pickup sounded very nice with a pick, too.

I enjoyed the video, nice straightforward review. 

 

I love my Stingray but have thought about the added versatility of the HH. For me the best settings were the usual bridge pickup alone, and the two outer coils which resembled a J bass tone to my ears. 

 

However I think you have identified a serious problem for me in the obstruction caused by the neck pickup placement. I don't slap all the time but that pickup would bug me.
