gypsyjazzer
Those of you who use a mic between the bridge feet (in the arch), what method did you use to fit the mic? That is pointing the mic towards the fingerboard. Would appreciate a photo if possible. Many thanks. mybass
My DB teacher of some years ago used a Shure mic wrapped in thickish foam, ‘jammed’ between the bridge feet with the mic head facing upwards in line with the fingerboard……plugged into a 30 watt valve amp and 12” speaker, great sound. (That teachers name was Roy Babbington). Edited January 12, 2023 by mybass
NickD
Watching with interest. I've seen lots of this recently, an would love to know what folks are using and how they're mounting them. I'm not that sold on my piezo and I don't really fancy going down the route of tiny, expensive dedicated mics.

JoeEvans
SM57 would be good for this I think.
