Ruck
Are their any real world examples of this happening? Im talking full size acoustic bass bodies like dreadnought. Obviously theres the smaller hollow body fretless basses out there such as Ibanez. I have a Status Fretless neck longing for a suitable quality body and I thought, how about a full sized acoustic body instead of the typical standard size solid body so I could potentially use it unplugged with the right gauge strings to emphasize the upper harmonics instead of worrying about reproducing fundamentals acoustically. It would of course also be wired up to use as an electric. Thanks all Edited January 15, 2023 by Ruck
Beedster
Fender Kingman https://www.fender.com/en-GB/acoustic-basses/concert-2/kingman-bass/0970743106.html?rdl=true IMO however Fender are not very good at anything acoustic 😕

Aidan63
There were a few acoustic guitars that had bolt on necks in the past, I'm sure Ted Woodford showed one in his weekly youtube videos in the last year Fender did some in the 60s list Edited January 15, 2023 by Aidan63 spelling + more info
Jean-Luc Pickguard
As Beedster said, the Fender Kingman has a jazz-like neck. Although the headstock and neck dimensions are like that on a jazz bass, the current MKII version has a typical acoustic-style set neck attachment with heel, but the older MKI version had a bolt-on neck with neckplate.
Waddo Soqable
The old Eko acoustic gits had a 4 screw bolt on neck, and quite a large body as I recall... sticking a bass neck on an acoustic body was one of the notions I toyed with at one point.

Jean-Luc Pickguard
That reminds me - Brandoni Guitars bought up the contents of the Eko factory years ago and had some acoustic bodies designed for bolt-on necks last time I was there, however the bsuiness has been closed since Roberto passed away in March last year and there is no indication of whether his family will be reopening the business.

Those Eko acoustic basses sure seem the loudest unplugged. Thanks for the recommendations Edited January 15, 2023 by Ruck
jd56hawk
If that doesn't work, I'm going to suggest an older Dean Exotica with the Aphex System electronics. Dean Exoticas have very slim necks. Really no different than my other electric basses. https://youtu.be/ZUIKUAYND6E Edited January 15, 2023 by jd56hawk
Newfoundfreedom
I have an Eko acoustic guitar with bolt on neck. It's a lovely bit of wood. I never thought about modifying it into an acoustic bass. Might have to look into it.
cetera
The old Kramer Ferringtons had an acoustic P-shaped body with a hockey stick Kramer Forum neck
