fleabag
I think not. Nothing about this floats my kayak
Cato
I quite like the basic concept (although why not just have 2 pickups) but I find that kind of aimless, random sounding jazz noodling quite hard to listen too.
Boodang
I think you're giving it too much credit to call it 'jazz' noodling, I think just noodling would suffice. Having said that, I do like the bass! At first I thought it was made from a toilet seat which makes it all the stranger that I actually like it. fleabag
The flat random noodling is pretty zzzzzzz but i wasnt interested in that, more that the pickup engineering is pointlessly over engineered, and tone is pretty nasty, and it looks like it was built at a creche
tauzero
Presumably he doesn't think much of the bridge position as he switches after a few seconds and never goes back to it. Two pickup positions with no ability to blend between them and no incremental change (like the Westone Rail and Gibson Grabber), plus either it has sliding contacts for the pickup (potential for noise) or wires (potential for metal fatigue and breakage). Beedster
That was all a bit odd? What’s the ‘bass concept’ in question, clearly eluded me?
ezbass
Where’s the Bongo?
fleabag
Its hard to imagine the concept. No way to intonate it for a start, as there's no adjustment at the bridge that i can see.
dudewheresmybass
certainly some questionable intonation going on initially at least Edited January 18, 2023 by dudewheresmybass
Pea Turgh
I think the guy’s playing is quite cool… maybe a little pitchy at times, but still better than mine! Daft concept, and not something I’d use, but looks like it works well. Speaking of wells, there appears to be one to allow for popping. Nice touch (for slappers). Delberthot
Ooft, I can't watch videos where the player goes for the carpal tunnel inducing crocked wrist position. There are so many of them as well and this guy's is by no means the worst- is there a reason why you would want to have such a horrible angle between forearm and hand? I play with pretty much a straight hand / forearm arrangement and, in fact, I've just tried it and I can't even get my wrist to bend that far
bubinga5
How can you bass someones playing without the music behind it. Bizarre way of thinking. having a go at someones playing on a forum where he might see seems a bit lame to me. Maybe you could post a vid Fleabag and show us all how its done.?
