I think you're giving it too much credit to call it 'jazz' noodling, I think just noodling would suffice.

Having said that, I do like the bass! At first I thought it was made from a toilet seat which makes it all the stranger that I actually like it.

Presumably he doesn't think much of the bridge position as he switches after a few seconds and never goes back to it. Two pickup positions with no ability to blend between them and no incremental change (like the Westone Rail and Gibson Grabber), plus either it has sliding contacts for the pickup (potential for noise) or wires (potential for metal fatigue and breakage).

I think the guy’s playing is quite cool… maybe a little pitchy at times, but still better than mine!

Daft concept, and not something I’d use, but looks like it works well.  Speaking of wells, there appears to be one to allow for popping.  Nice touch (for slappers).

Ooft, I can't watch videos where the player goes for the carpal tunnel inducing crocked wrist position. There are so many of them as well and this guy's is by no means the worst- is there a reason why you would want to have such a horrible angle between forearm and hand?

I play with pretty much a straight hand / forearm arrangement and, in fact, I've just tried it and I can't even get my wrist to bend that far
