BigRedX
I like that - something a bit different than the usual MM fare... However the UK is just stupid. You could get just about any UK luthier to build you a fantastic custom for that kind of money. If the exchange rates continue to throw up these kinds of prices it could be a good thing for luthiers here, just so long as they can persuade people that their product is far superior to those with famous names on the headstock (which as we all know here they are!) cytania
I believe this design is meant to be a nod to the Grazioso Futurama electric guitar which was Albert Lee's first guitar. It's not a straight steal by Music Man but it's certainly got that 50s Astromatic vibe. Al Heeley
it really is a pig ugly thing, but then i think the Bongo is barf-worthy too, guess I'm a bit of a traditionalist oon the aesthetic design side.

Count Bassy
I like it too. Certainly not ugly, but it is a lot of money.
Hooray for Holloway! I'm not remotely interested in this bass, but I hope they sell the pickups separately. They look like they'll sound amazing. RhysP
Jesus, that's ugly - even worse than the "Toilet seat with a neck" monstrosity that is the Bongo.
Duarte
I really like it too, but I do LOVE the bongo's looks. I don't see how anyone doesn't like it. It won't be that expensive, surely that is wrong. I mean, no mass produced bass can be THAT expensive? And it will sound incredible.
josh3184
I can see how people don't like the looks of the bongo but I think its gorgeous. Especially one I saw in Dargie Green. Yum yum yum!

Geddys nose
I like it, at least its not a Jazz knockoff which I would really hate EB/MM for.

I agree they get top marks for originality. Funnily enough it's not the body I hate on the Bongo, it's the headstock.
Jobiebass
Anyone played one of these yet?
Smash
I really do quite like these, I think it has to be the right colour to make it work for me though but the tonal options should be pretty much everything I need. Hmmm could feel an import coming especially as they are half the UK price!

chilisfan16
well, the harmonics were the only part i liked about it, and they wernt too bad, but didnt have that signature musicman ring which we all love.
harvey1-8
Got to give MusicMan Credit for producing basses that are a little out of the ordinary and a bit radical. This and the Bongo are very different from anything else being produced at the moment. I would hate to see them start doing P-bass and J-bass style basses. It kind of reminds me of when Gibson brought out the Explorer and Flying-V in the late 50's. Edited June 17, 2009 by alexharvay
horribleman
I think it sounds lovely on the bridge pickup in passive.
Duarte
Mmmm that does sound nice. I don't know what it is about about Music Mans but I just love them all. Especially the Bongo.
josh3184
urgh. Really not a fan of that, very little distinctive about the sound and the shape is too distinctive Edited June 17, 2009 by josh3184
Duarte
Does it suprise any of you that Sterling Ball said they came up with this at the last minute before NAMM over a chinese take away? That's the way to do it, obviously.
grumble
Ok Grumble steps up to the plate and shows his usual impecable taste.... yeah I like it But then again I own one of these beauties and I would love one of these so maybe my tastes arent quite mainstream
