Not much point showing a photo of me wearing my hat ... I wear a different hat at every gig and I have a different range of hats for each of the bands I play in.

 

So I've ended up making a feature of my hattery just inside the front door.

Apols for the quality, it's a crop from a wider shot, but this is one of my stage personas -- I call it 'Australian Idiot', complete with yet another hat. I'm going to have to replace it soon, as some of the corks have split and are clinging on for dear life.

Is it not possible to thread some replacement corks back on it? Shame to have to replace it, it looks like it’s seen some action, I’d be wanting to keep that one 👍

Yeah, I might do that. Whatever happens, I'll keep the hat -- if I get a new stage one, I'll just cut all the strings off this and use it as a sun hat. If the bloody sun ever comes out, that is.

To be fair, my "stage gear" is pretty similar to how I look when nipping out to pick up groceries. I only ever dial it back a bit when at work.

Serial hat (and sunglasses) wearer here, but it’s all part of the band image (honest). Having played in this attire for the last twelve odd years, I feel somewhat naked playing in my other band where such frippery is strictly frowned upon 😂

Tell ya what, I am quite partial to a western snap front shirt - they used to be my #1 choice when I'd be touring with a country-soul artist. They always felt like the right attire for the occasion. Top look 👍

For me it's either my everyday chapeau or flattie if I'm playing upright or my trusty Cassell's Stout trucker cap (tis truly the best stout in the world - a hard thing to admit as an Irishman)
