TheRev
The Red Snapper Facebook page has a post regarding the theft of Ali's bass from Hackney on 29th January https://www.facebook.com/redsnapperofficialpage/ Anyone familiar with Red Snapper will know that Ali and his bass are total legends, so keep an eye/ear out out for this being offered for sale. Happy Jack
Apart from the fact that this is a horrible thing to happen to any bassist, what sort of plonker thinks that there's mileage in (and big money to be made in) stealing, of all things, a double bass? TheRev
I'm actually surprised that anyone could be arsed to steal a double bass - not really the sort of thing you can leg it down the street with.
Rabbie
Gutted for the guy and duly shared. I hope it turns up soon and intact.
Burns-bass
That’s tragic. I’ve seen RS numerous times and I love them.

I missed them first time around in the mid-late 90s but was very pleased when they played at the Jam Jar in Bristol last year. Ali Friend is a massive influence on my playing, both for Red Snapper and Clayhill.

floFC
Was it a misunderstanding? Someone thought it was their umbrella?

Dunno, went back to find a link and it had disappeared from my feed. I can't imagine it would have been a cordial meeting, if a meeting was had. EDIT: Found it, but no more info given other than it was returned https://www.facebook.com/redsnapperofficialpage Edited January 31, 2023 by ezbass

Downunderwonder
Hopefully someone took it home for safe keeping in case some twit would steal it.
