Chienmortbb Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 On a serious note, some of the Beatles bass lines were very, very simple. Some of the latter ones were much better, but then he did not have to sing them live. Now if you want to tell me he is a better drummer than Ringo, I will ask you outside Sir. Quote
Frank Blank Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 (edited) On 03/02/2023 at 11:12, nilorius said: Sorry, i don't think so. Expand Understandable as Ronnie Pou was a made up name of a bass player in a made up band, purely for the purposes of pointing out that saying bassist a. is better or worse than bassist b. is subjective. You may think Gary Willis is a better bassist than Ronnie Pou, I may think Ronnie Pou is a better bassist than Gary Willis, what we are saying is neither of us is right per se. It is only, at best, a subjective expressed opinion and therefore, in analysis, as utterly pointless as any other unmeasurable unquantifiable opinion. Edited February 3, 2023 by Frank Blank 7 Quote

nilorius Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 About those top lists. The main important thing is who mades them. There could be 25 different lists made by "bass specialists" all around the world and all of them may differ at 99%. Finally we are here to have fun and each have it's 1#bassist, to enjoy listening and learning from, so no sense of those lists. Quote
