They're tug-bars - so you can hold there whilst playing with your thumb. 1 Quote

I didn't even know that was a thing 😂 I play with my thumb on a couple of tracks and never felt the need for a tug bar. It seems a bit odd and surplus to requirements to me, but then again so do thumb rests. Quote
