skidder652003
The folks at Talkbass have been talking about these. One fellow who also owns the original says they 'aint bad. Im tempted to pull the trigger just to see what its like. Got a Boss LMB 3 which Im happy with but fancy a change. Weirdly can't find them on aliexpress now, maybe they've been pullrd? Anyone on here had a chance to use one?

skidder652003
ok so I've pilled the trigger on the LY Rock stack version, had some gig money burning a hole. can find virtually nothing on them online so I'll put up some thoughts and samples when it (eventually) arrives. £87 inc tax and post. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004323116490.html heres the opening description, hope its a translation issue! Jeezzz.. "Cary 76 Dual Press Stacked Version Original Cologne Here is a brief introduction to the function knob of Cary 76, which is more convenient for brothers to adjust to their own needs." Bassybert
I bet the guys from Origin are over the moon with blatant rip offs being passed off as their own - the've still got the ORIGIN EFFECTS logo on for god sake.

Yes it’s a a bit dodgy for sure . I believe the origins pedals are a interpretation of the 1176 compressor? The blatant logo copy is a bit much I agree. behringer also have some form with copy, don’t think it’s stopped people buying them though

I'll try to get round to making a short video for youtube as I don't believe any exist for bass. It's quite a bit more involved than my Boss LMB 3, but first very brief impressions are good. It's pretty chunky and solid, heavy as well.
aobjects
I just got one of these on a lark. I'm dialing in my settings. The inside seems like a pretty complicated and relatively well made surface mount PCB, so I think it's probably doing quite a few things. Not sure if it's 100% on par with the Origin, but I'm willing to give it a shot. It's kind of a bummer that the LEDs for the compression levels are on the bottom side of the PCB inside the shell. I'm going to make a small mod where I place a 15mmx15mmx15mm triangle prism and a 15mmx15mm cube prism on a little 3D printed pedestal inside to reroute the level LEDs to be visible on the top surface. Will repost when I get all the parts if it works. Might make it a kit.

skidder652003
I found mine a bit noisy so Ive gone back to my trust old boss LMB 3. The difference a compressor makes in our gig level volume negates any fancy compression IMO.
thisisswanbon
I don't notice any noise in mine running at either 9v or 18v. It's as quiet as any other compressor I've used.
