For sale is my Carl Martin Valve Bass Drive pedal, with box and manual and kettle lead.

 

I bought this to warm up my sound and add a little eq to the tone. It fattens up the tone quite nicely and also does the full blown overdrive thing. I ran this with the gain at just above zero to get a warm clean sound as I discovered my basses were all too powerful for it apart from my vintage Jazz, I can only assume it was designed for passive instruments as it sounds great with my jazz. I did consider putting a lower gain AX7 valve in it but I just havent got round to it and have moved on to a Tech 21 Ged-2112 preamp but I think it's quite a common thing to do to them.

I mostly use active basses, but I'd only be using it for full in overdrive. Do you think the active basses would be too hot for it?

Sorry saw your post and forgot to reply.

 

I think I meant that active basses were too hot to do the low gain thing. Haven't used it in a while, I can take some sound clips with my active spector if you'd like to hear it
