LukeFRC
I've not really used many pedals with my bass, and the ones i have have all been stuck inbetween my bass and amp. My amp (like loads of amps) has a effects loop and it is deemed important enough to have one of the two buttons on the footswitch. But what exactly would you stick in an effects loop? Most things i would think you would put before the amp. ???

velvetkevorkian
Any effect that runs at line level rather than instrument level i.e most rack effects units.
skankdelvar
Some would have it that the compressor, and colouration fx like distortion, overdrive, wah etc should go between bass and the amp. While time-based fx, like chorus, flange, phase, reverb and delay go in the loop. But that's just one approach among many and not set in stone...experiment and find out what works for you. thisnameistaken
The FX loop is for losers who buy rack-mounted digital effects. And it's for the brilliant people who buy them, too. Just in case I upset any losers. I should stop coming here when I'm on the wine...
