Jay Carter Music
Hi anyone got any good recommendations for insurance? Up to 10k's worth of equipment including a double bass. If they do public liability too thats good! Thanks for your time

wateroftyne
Always New Moon for me. https://www.newmooninsurance.com (note: I’ve never had to claim, but I’ve heard nothing but good reports)
Dan Dare
MU membership gets you public liability insurance up to £10m at no extra cost. You can insure your gear through them, too.

Drax
+1 for New Moon. All my gig gear, about £5K, includes being left in locked car. £45 annual..
Lee-Man
New Moon as well. Super easy to deal with, hopefully never need to claim.

Did I say it was? £10m worth of public liability insurance included with the price of your sub's isn't to be sneezed at.

But the OP was interested in equipment insurance in the first instance, and while the MU is very good for public liability insurance, IIRC their equipment policy is less good value once you need to cover more than £2k worth that come free with membership. fretmeister
I moved over to New Moon a few years ago. Was previously with Allianz. They were fine, and I use their products at work without difficulty, but they got a lot more expensive.
Burns-bass
Thanks for the tip off, will give these guys a call. I have musical instruments on my house insurance (and are covered outdoors) but they’ll do everything they can to avoid a payout…
woodyratm
I was just thinking that I should consider insuring my gear. It’s covered under household but think I’d like dedicated insurance. 200 odd quid for the year. Maybe worth it.
