TheGreek Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Footage of the latest bass from Jens. Bass looks great despite the fretboard. https://youtu.be/XKMDNeef4MA Quote
nilorius Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Yes, bass is great, but no matter you like the fretboard, before you open your acount, try to, try it out. Quote
fleabag Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Hey Mick, shut your account Bass is too wacky for me. Looks like John Travolta should be dancing on it. 1 Quote
Chris2112 Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 It's an interesting looking bass but I'm not a fan of that 'elastic bands on a butter tub' tone. I've heard better sounding Ritters, with roundwound strings. 2 Quote

I love the look of that bass - saw it a little while ago (on Jen's mailing list), but I completely agree on the tone... really quote poor to be honest, and the playing of that chap is a bit 'basic'. He might very well be an excellent player, but that video does not at all showcase how exceptionally good I believe that bass is in reality. Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 I thought it sounded familiar... 1 3 Quote
Chris2112 Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 I haven't seen that video in years, it certainly brings back memories of when a comparison to a Wishbass was an outright insult 🤣🤣 Quote

TheGreek Posted February 26, 2023 Author Posted February 26, 2023 I must say that I love many of the Ritter designs - at least he's doing more than churning out Fender copies. However I owned a Cora which I was afraid to take out in case it was damaged. No point owning a bass you're scared to play. 2 Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 I should point out that I have no problem with Ritter's designs. It's the tone of the bass in that clip that is a bit... questionable. 1 Quote
Burns-bass Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 That bass is amazing and I love it. Quote
wateroftyne Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 To be fair… if you’re after that tone and you can’t do wet farts on demand, there aren’t many other options out there. 1 Quote
greentext Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 I usually love Ritter stuff but gotta say this one really isnt for me, that fretboard would both mesmerise and confuse if I was to play it Quote
Passinwind Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Love the look, the tone is fine by me too. Quote
TheGreek Posted February 26, 2023 Author Posted February 26, 2023 I'm not sure we can just the tone of this bass by a 1:32 video. Pretty sure if it's got "Ritter" on the headstock it's going to be far from a one trick pony. Quote

Delberthot Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Forget the bass, what's with the chicken neck style impersonation the player is doing? Quote
