I have one answer for question nobody asked, but maybe someone will find it useful:

Fender Jazz Bass control plate does not fit Sire V7 2nd gen bass, two screw holes close to the pickguard are in different locations. I checked control plate from American Professional Jazz Bass 2019 (probably all Fender JB control plates are the same except for potentiometer/socket holes).

I have also a question:

I have V7 and do not use the preamp at all and I do not like the location of the jack socket on the bottom of the body, so I want to replace the control plate to the one from V5 or some other plug-and-play plate with holes for 3 pots and a jack socket. I want to keep the stock parts and put them back when I will be selling the bass and do not want to make new mounting holes, so the buyer will get all original bass without any mods. Does anyone know where can I buy original V5 control plate or a replacement?

I am also thinking about getting blank pickguard and cutting control plate out of it, but it will not look really got. Maybe someone has better idea?

I just got a V7 and am thinking about ripping out the active controls too, one idea i had was using the first 3 holes for vol / vol / tone, plugging the 4th and then rerouting the jack to the 5th.

could be the cheapest / easiest way
