King Tut
I’ve always fancied a Stingray 5 - must be something to do with Tony Levin!
chris_b
Hi Chris, My first 5 string bass was an SR5. I played that for 4 or 5 years, but the sound was never "me". Maybe the SH models might have suited me better, but they didn't exist at the time, anyway it was a good bass to start me on my 5 string journey. dub_junkie
I also used to own a different pair of Ray 35's - honeyburst and black cherryburst And a rare Lavender Pearl Stingray 5 from 1999 iirc
WinterMute
My 2 SR5's a 20th Anniversary and a very hybrid fretless based on a EBMM SR5 neck, an OLP body and Bartolini pups/pre.

WinterMute
Best SR5 ever made IMO, although I'd really like to try the 35th anniversary model as it looks very slick.
snorkie635
These two: SRV5 30th and piezo SRV. The third is an impostor.
lidl e
Me in the early 90s, would love to have the hair moreso than the bass.

TheGreek
I could never get on with the scratch plates on the 5ers. They look soooo much better without the plate IMO
AndyTravis
I miss my 2 terribly. Sold then when the last band folded…which is sad as they’d become integral to “my sound”

Lovely bass: can understand the regret.

Oooo interesting I’ve been looking for one for quite a few years. You don’t often see them for sale and when you do they seem to be very expensive
snorkie635
Yes, unfortunate but true on both counts. I think they were around £3000-ish when new and are now only out there in limited numbers. Good luck with the search.

Belka
More teal. This is a 1996 (I think) which I bought second hand in 1998. Wonderful bass. I know that around this time you were considered lucky if you got one with a birdseye neck. This one actually has quite a bit of flame in the neck which I think is quite rare.
