Elfrasho
Hello! My band have introduced some backing tracks to our setup. It's the usual set up, click to the left into the drummers IEMs, track to the right to FOH. This is controlled off of either an android phone, or an android tablet. The music player we use works fine (music player plus) apart from two things. The control buttons take up a tiny bit of the screen, and it doesn't seem to allow us to stop autoplay - it just goes onto the next track unless we stop it manually. I've tried VLC and a few others, all seem to have the same issues So, anyone know of any apps that do these two things: Allows us to play 1 track without it going onto the next track automatically, and has a GUI that has play/stop/rewind buttons which take up a bit more of the screen to make it a bit easier to control on the fly? lidl e
Can you not just make each tune its own playlist?

lidl e
No worries. And if you use your phone/tablet in landscape mode, the buttons should take up more space maybe?

Ideally the control buttons would take up the majority of the screen. Any app we've tried likes to allocate the majority of the screen for artwork, which is ashame, even on landscape. But it's definitely better than how we've currently been working it!
lidl e
See if the player you are using has any "skins" that are customised how you like. I use AIMP and appsrently it has a lot of skins. I just use the default one but im sure there are ones with larger buttons https://www.aimp.ru/?do=catalog&os=windows&id=0 Edited March 14, 2023 by lidl e
asingardenof
I use Poweramp, it does pretty much what you're after, even on the default skin. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maxmpz.audioplayer&hl=en_GB&gl=US

woodyratm
Have you also got anything midi controller-wise? We control our backing track (albeit via laptop) using a qc and Bluetooth midi. Maybe an option with the tablet?
Elfrasho
Cheers! All great ideas, but it was all under our noses the whole time. Sticking the tunes into individual playlists, making the android display size 150%, and then putting it in landscape makes a huge difference! It's exactly how we want it now. Cheers for the input folks!
