You’ll have to send a letter of apology to Behringer, @ped. It might make a change to the usual ‘cease and desist’ letters they receive 😛 Expand Ah my mistake - I assumed it didn’t because their octavider didn’t either. In that case the off switch is quite useful, assuming it works in the same way (and I’m not making that assumption too!) Quote

I wonder if Behringer is shipping these with a 9v battery included. Might be worth opening it up to check and removing if included. Are you asking for a replacement or refund? Expand Not sure about the battery, and it's already been packed up to go back so I can't check. I'm asking for a replacement - hopefully they'll have one left... 1 Quote

I haven't taken the back off though) Quote

stewblack Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Mine just arrived and it definitely is not going back. A lovely wet, splashy envelope. The down stroke is the best I've heard. Looks great, sounds great 👍 6 Quote

stewblack Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) OK as promised a short clip of the Behringer B-Tron followed by the Red Rocket Tron lll. I thought I'd stick with the same riff used above. The first thing i noticed was the B-Tron is compressed quite significantly in comparison with the Tron lll. Just a glance at the waveforms after I recorded the clips showed way more dynamic change within the Red Rocket recording. The B-Tron was very square by comparison. Cosmo Valdemar Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Well, my replacement arrived and it was exactly the same as the first pedal. So either I was tremendously unlucky to get two broken ones or it's just a very dodgy pedal. 1 Quote

The odds seem very slim. Perhaps the shop has a bad batch? Or could there be anything with your setup? I'd guess a power supply related thing. 1 Quote
ped Posted March 25 Author Posted March 25 Are the input/outputs the opposite way round as they are on the Mutron (Musitronics and Haz)? That's caught a few people out before! 1 Quote

Expand Thanks, that's quite the difference in the tone at the mid range, RR Tron lll seems to have more of an open / breathy dynamic there. I am glad the behringer unit is good though, you could say more "refined" in comparison I guess, I mean the RR T3 has the fonk, and can be a bit of an unruly untamed feral beast, and that's why I like it 🙂. I have always been a bit suspect of behringer stuff, for some unknown reason, perhaps I was frightened by a behringer pedal when I was a child.
