Russ Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I've mentioned this bass on here before, and it's never shown up again. No idea if it even still exists! But, back in 1996, I desperately wanted a Sei but couldn't afford one. So I bought a through-neck body from Brandoni for £200 and took it to Chris McIntyre, back when he worked at The Gallery, and he transformed it into this lovely beast: I loved that bass, it got me through some difficult times. Ended up selling it back in 2001 when I desperately needed the money. I sold it at Notting Hill Music Exchange, never to be seen again. I'd love to be reunited with it if it's still out there somewhere. I wouldn't mind getting that old Mesa/Boogie rig back too, although I doubt my back would be too grateful... 1 Quote
BassAgent Posted February 14 Posted February 14 The Squier JV Precision I bought for €75, sold it for a lot more and have tried to buy back for a few years now. The current owner is the guy I sold it to. He knows I want it back, but refuses to sell it back to me (because he really likes the bass, not because he hates me...I hope). 1 1 1 Quote
jonnybass Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Bass collection SB315 in pearlescent white, with black hardware. Great bass to play but pickups and electronics were a bit meh, in was 1995 so had no idea about being able to change electronics so traded it for a mexican jazz, which was traded for a Fender precision lyte, which was traded for a yamaha BB1500a, which was sold to fund a Stingray V, which was sold to buy....etc etc Still have an occasional thought of buying one and getting new electronics in it. jonny 1 Quote

thebrig Posted February 14 Posted February 14 My Fender 1971 Precision bass with a (A) neck, and a well beaten up body. Quote
KingBollock Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I wonder how many people would be fine with getting the same make and model, rather than the exact bass that they owned? I’d be ok with any Westone Raider I in silver/grey that was in good nick. It would be nice of it had the hard case, too, especially if it had the same smell. In fact, I probably wouldn’t be able to tell. There was slight buckle rash on the back and I had added a small sticker of a vulture perched on a skull, to the headstock, which I would imagine would have been removed. The biggest giveaway would be the case, since it had my name embossed in huge letters on the front of it… I was 12 years old, I thought it looked cool! I never considered that I’d ever no longer own it. I used to think that if I could, I’d get two of them. One to keep as is and another to add a second P pickup and active circuitry. If I could only get one I would keep as is. Though, I always seem to miss out if/when they do come up for sale. Someone even made a thread on this forum pointing out one for sale on EBay, in 2021 (I think), but I had wondered off from BassChat around then, so I missed it. That’ll teach me! 1 Quote

Lozz196 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I did this @KingBollock, in 1987 I had a Yamaha BB1100s and nostalgia has gripped me recently so got the same model/colour scheme. I did actually think it could be my old bass as has wear & tear in same places but the seller had had it since 1985. Quote
dclaassen Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I’d love to have the 63 jazz back, along with the 68 unlined fretless P that I traded for it. However, the one I really would love to have back was a MPC Outlaw, with the plug-in effects modules. A really surprising bass that was my backup for years. Quote
Skybone Posted Monday at 14:12 Posted Monday at 14:12 All the ones that were let go, were let go for a reason, and you just have to get on with it. If the reasons were different, I might not have had to sell the Thunder 1A, my first 4003, the blue '99 Tokai Love Rock, the '77 Ibanez Artist 2619, or the '78 Iceman IC100, but they went, and other stuff came in. I'd be happy getting the same make & model - Aria Pro II Wildcat in white. But it would need to be exact. I keep looking on ebay, but white with the earlier P/J pickups seems pretty rare. Nothing particularly special about them except my dad bought me one as a kid. Here's one in red... 3 Quote
