Oh blimey, too many, but there's a few that stand out, a late 90's US fender jazz, black with a single ply scratchplate, two early Zoot boudicas, the first shape, a blueburst fretless 5 and a natural flame maple 6 string. A Carvin LB75 in trans red and a warmoth gecko fretless 6 in flame koa.

That sounds a fine collection. Throw some pictures up and someone may be the new owner (and be willing to sell!) The Zoots sound very interesting. Never played one or seen one in the flesh. ☹️

If anything for me it’s a guitar - an Epiphone Gary Clarke Jnr Casino I had a few years ago. It just sang and made me want to play it continually.

I don’t play much electric guitar and when it came to selling something I kept my old MIJ strat which is in truth more  versatile.

But I never play it - I’d have played the Epiphone more… 🙁

That is really nice in the blue finish. Impressive

From time to time I regret selling my first bass. But, I fear that I wouldn't get much use out of it if I still had it, as is proven by the "for sale" section here...

The old fretless technique of playing with a box on your head to avoid looking at where your fingers are. 😉

It was quite an effective method, apparently. I think I was even in tune the first time I gigged that bass (choice of notes is another matter).

Mine would probably be my Yamaha P35. Easily replaceable if you have the money though.
The instrument I miss most sentimentally is a PRS CU24. More than wanting them back, I’m more curious to know where old instruments are now. I know one is in France and another the USA!

For sentimental reasons my first 'proper' bass one of the original Spector Legends (serial no. 8854):

From 'just a great bass' POV, this ACG fretless was awesome.  I would buy both back in a second and have actually tried to track them down but to no avail.

Nothing in the immediate future (having recently picked up a fretless 5er).

There's quite a few - the MM SUB that @ikay has now is a particular standout.

Edit - in fact I'm fairly sure it's his avatar. That says it all really!

My dads old red and white Fender P bass with all the old chrome hardware covers on it, probably from around the 70's.

I guess it was never technically mine, he gave it to me to keep safe when he got kicked out by my mum but asked for it back a few years later...if I was into playing bass at the time I would've tried to keep it.

Family connection make these things even more meaningful.

The bass. Red Roscoe Beck Jazz 5

The guitar.  Hamer Steve Stevens

Mentioning a red RBV has started my 'condition' again. More cold showers at frequent intervals I'm afraid. Where did I put my loofa?

I would dearly love to get my trusty Stingray 5 back again.  It was fitted with a Status neck by Rob Green in early 2005 and was my go to bass for many years.  Only sold it because I was playing in an Elvis tribute band and didn't need a 5-string. Big mistake.  Where is it now I wonder.

Somebody, somewhere knows. Might be reading this? Nice piece of kit as well.

I should have an old pic on the PC. I'll have a look.
