Voting habits aside, anyone who uses "gay" in a pejorative way, as a catch-all insult, is deserving of scorn.

I used to follow him on social medias various, mainly to see if he'd manage to really dig himself out of the hole he'd been digging for a long time, only to see he's dug himself a new one!

Unfollowed and blocked immediately. He's clearly just a bad guy, and I'm not bringing voting habits into it.

I had always just assumed he was inept when it came to running a business/building instruments.  turns out there are more areas where he's lacking

He absolutely represents the worst of Britain. I'm sure he's out there throwing bricks at police as we speak.

If his record of actually delivering objects to a destination is anything to go by, he is more likely to be throwing lame excuses.

Allegedly....

We understand this for what it is - a humourous remark, so full of hyperbole that it is obviously not true.

But let's not defame a person who is struggling (and perhaps failing) to maintain his own reputation.

I am mindful of the thread about Mick Mason, that had to be pruned of various remarks, so that only the facts remained.

Here, the facts regarding Letts are enough to tell the story about his business practices, and personal morality.

Yours, taking this thread far too seriously.

Nah, I think you've got this wrong. It's not humorous or in any way and is calibrated to offend people. Not sure trying to justify this is a good look.

But, I agree we should ignore Letts and let SEO do its work.

SEO? Search Engine Optimisation, I see.

When I did a search for "is Letts Bass any good?", this basschat.co.uk thread was the second result, after Letts Bass own website, with third place being taken by a Trust Pilot review page, showing an average of 2.8

Is that what @Burns-bass meant by SEO doing its work?

No indeedy not. That was his statistically

Remodelled rorschach iq test.

The score. Normal for letts ha ha.

The basses do not look as though they were made by Ed gein blindfold.

A tool and bellend extraordinaire. Which one ? ......

Any news on the bass ?

Hey all, apologies for the lack of updates. Health and family issues take precedence before bass matters, even for me!🤣🤣

So, Jon Letts has started my bass. He wanted to (and did) leave the glued up neck blank to settle before he did any work to it.

But he uploaded a video to YouTube a few weeks ago, showing him doing the neck carve and shaping. He confirmed it is the bass in the comments.

I've emailed Jon today (Sunday 17th November) to request some pictures as I believe the body wings and neck are now glued together and it resembles a bass, and when those arrive I will post them here.

Cheers all.👍🏻

Hope it goes better for you this time and you get something out of this ordeal.

The man is a master of Bullsh*t, I'd not be surprised if he's just showing you 'stock' photos or videos of past builds. 90% chance he's still shining you on. Hope I'm wrong.

Pretty difficult to have stock or old foto's of a custom order, right?

Depends on how generic the order is, and whether the custom parts of the build are pickups, electronics, tops woods, hardware etc. If Jon is part way through the wood work I expect it'd be fairly easy to share a few snaps of a build he's done previously that's broadly similar to what Eddie is after.

Are these things actually any good? Do they play/sound better than they look (appreciating beauty is in the eye of the beholder). Just had a quick skim through his videos on youtube... I'd be well chuffed if my custom build was being dropped multiple times, getting dented along the way.

Standard practice in dropping instruments you are building? really?

I’m not interested in this guy and not watching his videos. Reputable builders showcase their builds in videos, that’s the point I was making.

I'm not disputing that - I'm commenting on him being a builder that is showcasing his building skills by dropping the neck on the floor twice in quick succession and then thinking it's a good idea to post that on Youtube.

Strange if you aren't interested in the guy you are lurking in this thread... but there you go!

I’m interested in the conclusion of the story and hopefully the restitution here. Nobody wants a bass player to get screwed over.

On the other hand I’m not wasting my time watching a video by Letts because it could help boost views and encourage some other poor soul to part money for his useless creations.

Hope that clarifies my position…
