Daddario Tapewounds - faulty A-string?

Just bought a set of these which I really like. My A-string is not quite as nicely wound as the others, it's almost like I can see the metal underneath - see images attached.
It doesn't seem to affect the sound much, if at all, but I guess I could get a replacement A-string if it's not up to standard.

Does any one else have a set of these - I wondered if it might just be how the A comes out?!

Probably just part of a different batch.  I've had the same with LaBella nylons.

No, that looks like a duff string to me - all four usually match. Here's a well-worn set of mine:

Doesn’t look right to me, I’ve got 2 jazzes with them and they look like this

They are really nice strings , especially when they’ve been played in for a while, super smooth

Agreed, really liking them! I was surprised as I played some other brand and they were quite plasticy but these almost feel like cotton covered, and they sound great.

I had a similar problem with a Rotosound Tapewound, sent them a photo, they sent a replacement string AND a new set.
