Hello to all.Finally i've got a 70's maya jazzbass. I can mention a noise through my amp. When i turn off the master tone knob the noise stops. Do you have any idea what can i do to stop the noise?It's not too loud but it is annoying.

Maybe yes.maybe from the pickups. The first thought is to change the wiring but i am not sure.maybe only the master tone

It's almost certainly electrical noise caused by poor shielding or a bad earth connection. Rolling off the tone reduces the hum and makes it less noticeable, but it's still there, and of course you've lost an important part of your signal.

 

Any competent guitar tech should be able to fix this for you fairly easily.
