Chimike
I noticed that the modern Ampeg PF 15” sealed cab has similar internal dimensions to my mid 60’s B15 cab, so when a somewhat beat up PF cab became available, I set about converting it to the double baffle arrangement that Ampeg deployed in the “old days “. Still waiting for delivery of the correct speaker mounting bolts, but then I’ll be able to compare old and new. I do use a sealed PF115he with a PF500 for pub rock ‘n roll gigs, not bad cabs , but I need something “ sweeter “ for acoustic gigs. Pics to follow, they’re on a different IPad. Chimike
Seem to need help uploading photo’s. They’re on my old IPad, but, although I’m showing as logged in, there is no “ reply “ option, just a thin box. Any idea’s.SORTED Edited March 30, 2023 by Chimike
Chimike
Ok, found a way to get photo's onto my work computer ! First photo shows the old holes filled with blanking panels, then re cut for speaker, then slots added. tweeter and rear input panel is removed, and main speaker centralised.

Chimike
So, Fliptops recommend the Eminence Beta for the B15, and I have one in mine, but I thought I’d try a Faital pro PR15-400 in this cab, see what happens with more powerful amps. OK, so only in Pubs, so far , but Lovin’ it ! Happily copes with the extra volume, and nice and light , too. That’s encouraged me to start modding my B15r cab,( looks great ,horrible sounding cab) in the same way. Actually, much easier to do, as the front baffle simply unscrews. Pics to follow.

Chimike
I've also made a false lid, and a box to hold the head, as , although I love the flip top principle, I'm 78 and can no longer lift the B..... Again, pics to follow, when I've painted it. PS Also modded a couple of 60's Vox cabs, A T60, never a good sounding cab originally, now, running one Eminence neo 3015, and properly ported and braced, sounds great, has a whole new life ahead of it. Also, a 2 x 12, maybe a defiant cab, now running an Eminence kappalite 3012LF and an Alpha 6, again properly ported and braced , not tried that one yet. Both look as original from the outside, all mods reversible. Edited May 24, 2023 by Chimike
