I refer to it as the Dark Lord.

Guitar & Bass Build stingray body in gloss black

Status Graphite neck with vintage wire frets (the last one they had left!)

Aguilar Pickup

East MM preamp with the fancy midrange

Albridge Bridge

Schaller Tuners

Dunlop Straplocks

The skill and patience of the amazing Huw Price

Tonally it blows away my Sr5! I love it!

Yeah, I was extremely lucky. Somebody had actually got in touch with status before me but the emails from status were going to his spam folder, so thinking he wasn't interested in the neck they emailed me back and offered it to me. The guy was apparently not happy as you can imagine!

I don't mind the scratchplate but definitely prefer it without.

So happy with this bass! Every note is clear and even and is very responsive to my technique. People tend to believe that graphite makes the tone really bright but this isn't the case, for me anyway. Its no brighter than a normal stingray but there is definitely more clarity to every note.

The east preamp is amazing too, that midrange circuit is very powerful.
