Hi everyone. I used a B100 15 in a practice room this week and it sounded really good. I play punk and the 15” speaker really helped. I’ve found a B300 and weight aside are these amps ok and reliable? There seems to be little or nothing available info wise on the net….Thanks in advance Mike 😊

That looks like an off shore product with a Hiwatt  label stuck on to it. It screams fake to me.

Edit: Doing a quick search, Talkbass has many questions from members on these and other Maxwatt units. Another article that surfaced had an amp being switched on and the hum level was deafening. I still wouldn't touch one with a barge pole.

I played the B100 at practice and it’s ok. I’ve found a B300 which appears to be identical apart from output but cannot find anything on the web like user guide or reviews ect. I’ve seen the guy in Brazil’s piece but I was after some uk info.

They’re Chinese made combos that use absolutely super heavyweight marine ply.

They have literally nothing in common with the original hand-wired, point to point valve Hiwatt from the 60s, but if it sounds good to you, then that’s all that matters!

I had a Chinese made Hiwatt valve combo which was wonderful.

You’ve probably found these web pages already but just in case -

It looks very similar to the combos currently on the Hiwatt website-

might be worth an email for some info?

Bass gallery have what could be a 60w one for over £300 -
