A '54-style Precision with no scratchplate. Deep quilted top, maple cap neck with stripes.

Squier CV profile neck, not the traditional 50s baseball bat.

Any vintage toned single coil P pickup.

Hmmm.

4 String.

Definitely a Jazz body, perhaps a Boner just to be different.

One piece (if poss) Ash body in Natural.

B/W/B scratchplate.

Quartersawn Maple neck with a nice straight grain. LH on a RH body.

Carbon reinforcing rods on the neck.

A brass nut, compensated if possible.

Bullet truss-rod adjustment at the headstock end.

Ebony slab  board.  Stainless Jumbo frets. Only a double dot at the twelfth fret on the fun face.  Dots as usual along the top edge.

Passive VVTT  (Dual concentric) electrics Using CTS pots and a sprague caps. No notches on the controls.

Edge mounted jack socket.. recessed, Not on a plate (like a Warwick)

Let's have that cavity (and the pickup routs nicely shielded with copper tape then lacquered so it stays shiny

Overwound neck pickup.

Badass II bridge.

Hipshot lightweight or Gotoh tuners.

Schaller Straplock compatible buttons.

Strung with DR Sunbeams...

Still trying to work out what the best for resale value would be. It's not easy because so many people on here have orgasms at every dull as ditchwater P or J that there's a picture of. I reckon a 4-string fretted P in oly white or lake placid blue, tort pickguard, standard electronics and then I could name my price.

What do You mean - 3 orders ???

At least 3 of us wanting the alligator skin case..

Consider if you will, the unmistakable groovy timbre only available from a bass that's always lived in one o' them luvly cases (with the green lining, natch..)

If it had to be a Fender, I'd get them to make me a Roscoe Beck 5 with the 80s Performer body shape.

On the other hand, I could just get Jon Shuker to build me a headless version... oh god, the GAS strikes...

This, with an inline 5-string, reversed headstock, would look great, IMO.

Might need to change the colour to a solid bright white, with black hardware and matching headstock.

(EDIT : I'd change them damn clover leaf tuners as well.)

Chantilly? Surely that would be a Big Bopper Cuppa? 😉

B.B. did the original certainly, J. L-L did his own version, which was the one I was thinking of..
