Rayman Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 So the post size is 17.5mm on the headstock of this jazz bass. The existing tuners screw hole positions are 20mm and 23mm. Hipshot HB7s are close, but really, I can’t justify the cost in this bass at this time. I was hoping Wilkinsons would fit, but at 25mm and 33mm the screw holes are miles away. Any suggestions, or am I looking at plugging and drill new holes? Quote
neepheid Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Eh, buy what fits in the big hole (and your budget) and fill/redrill as needed - it's not that big a deal of a job. 1 Quote
Aidan63 Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 I think I have got some used Squier tuners here if you need them; have to find them and check they are the same as you need 1 Quote

If @Aidan63’s spares aren’t the right size, go with the Wilkinson’s and modify as above. They’d be a nice upgrade I’d imagine. 1 Quote
Rayman Posted April 16, 2023 Author Posted April 16, 2023 Yep, ordered the Wilkinsons, and actually the original screw holes should be covered, so just case of new pilot holes. 1 Quote

Given the distance from the old holes, you should be ok in terms of strength, but you might want to fill them anyway. 1 Quote
