But being competely honest, I don't have headspace for thinking about that during a gig - too much else going on! Definitely prefer to get to something that sounds decently good, based on prior experience, at home and then make a mental note of any adjustments (eg drive not cutting through the mix or whatever) during a live performance. I do love ability to preset on multifx, it's one less thing to think about and no worries about dials getting knocked etc. But then again I'm on PA & desk lead for my band - I guess if someone else is dealing with that then you're freed up to focus on "just" being the bass player, which would be grand! IMO, most things that are EQ related can be dealt with via a decent desk, and perfecting flavours of tone are nice to have, but not what a good band performance hinges on? Quote

I very rarely tweak anything while I'm gigging. My presets are dialled in at home and tweaked at rehearsals at gig volume. Any eq issues are swiftly dealt with on the mixer. LIke you, I make a mental note if something isn't quite right and address it later. Quote

There are, but there's not many cheap boxes that use Neural Amp Modelling. I did note however that it's output is unbalanced, so will likely need a DI to plug it into a mixer. Quote

I have a processor board on my desk at this very moment to impliment midi on the ToneXOne, but wouldn't want to make a habit of it! 57 minutes ago, Greg Edwards69 said: I did note however that it's output is unbalanced, so will likely need a DI to plug it into a mixer. You know, I have never bothered with that - I just go straight into the desk with a jack plug, fine if you are not a long way away Quote

Most of mine are, but all of them can be, different basses have different levels and how fast the echo needs to be on whole lotta love depends on how fast the drummer has decided to play it! Also, I often make a mental note to change something on a gig, but then forget almost immediately until the next time I play that song on a gig. Quote
paul_5 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I use a Line 6 M5 with an expression pedal for modulation, delay and pitch-shifty weirdness; everything else (filters, compressor, octave and many, many filth boxes) are honest-to goodness analogue units. Quote
Al Krow Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Looks like an interesting alternative to the Zoom MS60B+ Liking the form factor, drum machine and 80 minute looper storage Seems to be geared primarily at guitarists, but hey... 1 Quote
jimfist Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I'd love to know if you can trigger a saved loop via MIDI from an external pedal, so this could be used like a sample playback device of sorts. That would be pretty slick! Quote
crazycloud Posted Monday at 01:18 Posted Monday at 01:18 I have a Zoom B3n for bass and a NuX MG300 for guitar/SRC6 at home going into a mixer/EQ then a FRFR speaker. For live work in the future I'm looking at a single MFX to do bass and guitar plus some cab emulation into a small FRFR so I can do bass and guitar in the one simple set up. I'm not much of a tone cork sniffer, so I'm guessing so long as I had, worst case, maybe a dozen pre-sets for guitar and same for bass, I could cover just about anything. Looking at the Boss GX10 as it's small and seems to do everything I need in one. This is mainly for the small coffee house gigs I want to do with a friend, her singing with an acoustic, me on bass and some guitar and harmony vocal. As space is usually non-existent in these spaces, I'm even looking at building a chair for me that will have an EV 50M type set up built in so it takes no more floor space, with her on her stool beside and the GX could fit between my feet. I'm an EE so designing and building it shouldn't be too hard. I have a larger rig for the less often R&R stuff I do, and the GX could go on the floor or on top of the rig. Quote
