BreadBin
Can you borrow a bar stool?
Woodinblack
Sit down. I did a gig after a knee replacement, just sat on a stool, stuff was carried to me and I had no problem with the gig.
KingBollock
It depends which ligament you’ve torn. I once tore my MCL and found a metal hinged knee brace to be very helpful.
louisthebass
What others have said - do the gig sitting down, no point in crippling yourself any further. I had to do a gig years ago with a bad case of Sciatica (not the name of the band lol), and it was the only time I've ever had to do a gig like that. chris_b
I did my back again a few weeks ago and my last 3 gigs were done sitting on a bar stool. I'm not cancelling a gig unless I've died, and even then I'll try to find a way to do it.
Woodinblack
Honestly, I know it might seem odd, but there are some people in the audience who don't even care if the bass player is not standing up
M@23
Yep, feels silly, but sit down. I did 6 weeks of gigging in a cast about 7 years ago. Wasn’t all bad, I was excused from load in/out! One of the gigs was a NYE party and that was a bit frustrating, but needs must.
Waddo Soqable
I quite often used to grab a tall bar stool from the venue and play seated on that, OK I was admittedly about 20 and did it as a gimmick rather than necessity. .. . but, people generally thought it was cool & unusual, so I'd say.. make a feature of it ! 👍
Chienmortbb
The venous has Bar Stolls so should be oK. The ligament is not a Cruciate but a Fibular collateral ligament. Thanks for all the advice.
Crusoe
Anyone else think this thread was going to be about an embarrassing hygiene situation? 😬

Thanks for all the advice. At least it is only collateral damage... Sorry, shouldn't jest really as I have a poorly knee too and know what a pain it is.
