bassadder
Hi Guys Do you know professionals that replace the zip puller on my Mooradian Deluxe gigbag?. Mooradian sent me the zipper pullers but I need someone to get the broken one off and replace both the zip pullers as the bags 20 + years old and in great condition except for this annoying issue. Many thanks in advance Laurence
TheGreek
Interesting thread. I have a similar issue with a gigbag where the zips don't work - I'm sure a simple fix for somebody who knows what they're doing. Maybe a quick visit to YT will yield answers. Many thanks in advance Laurence Hi Laurence - hope you're well? you can buy a split-ring from any fishing shop which will allow you to attach the original zip-pull and save any problems of removal from the actual zip mechanism. Should cost about 25p. best P
snorkie635
If not - any local saddler should have the skills. 🙂
Dood
I often see something like these advertised (no idea why I am targeted, maybe for this very thread, who knows!!) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385468524343?var=653322485743&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338365712&toolid=20006&customid=EB118879401& A clip on replacement zip catch. Not sure if this one linked is any good, but I have seen plenty advertised.
PaulThePlug
I'd use a small key split ring, then attach a pull tab if required.
SamIAm
IF the zipper gliding part is still OK, I've used a short bit of thin paracord in the past to provide a zipper pull, or something like this. About a fiver from Amazon ... S'manth x
bassadder
If you notice the whole top of the zipper pull has come away so there’s nowhere to attach another clip too

I've never replaced a zip mechanism, it looks rather fiddly! I wonder if a short length of paracord (with a Monkey fist knot to act as the bit that you grab) superglued to the current zip slider would work 🤔 S'manth x

"JB Weld" works well on metals. https://www.jbweld.co.uk/
tauzero
You could search for tailors or invisible menders, they'd probably know what to do. In fact, Timpson say they can do zips - https://www.timpson.co.uk/repairs/clothing
bassadder
Just a quick update I found a high end bag and luggage maker locally and they replaced the zippers for £ 50 and have done an excellent job 2
