lidl e
this is a warmoth bass i put together with a moses graphite neck and an original 2Tek bridge. i really love it and think it looks very cool. sounds great, plays great. but i just finished painting a bass and i enjoyed the process so much i want to do it again. what do you think? Yellow with matching headstock? Candy apple red? or just leave it? Maybe get a fancy new pickguard? NancyJohnson
I wouldn't do anything with the neck. A black body might look saucy.
Waddo Soqable
Matt black..

lidl e
Just now, Waddo Soqable said: Matt black.. i have an 8 string flying V in matte black. i was also considering that for paint i have the painting bug now. so enjoyable and the results are amazing. i'm eben considering building a guitar for something different to paint, but that would just sit in a closet. Waddo Soqable
If you make some phoney ones you can do an impressive (if fraudulent) "basses on your sofa" type pic 😁

miles'tone
Niiiice! If it was my bass I'd leave the Moses neck and the pickguard as is and do the body in bright Lamborghini orange. Natural wood finish bodies and graphite necks visually don't work for me. But hey I'm not you.
tauzero
Natural wood is lovely. Paint is hideous. 3
Beedster
Strip it, some decent black oil and some good wax, it'll look black but you'll still see and feel the grain

fleabag
There is no right answer, as we're talking very personal choice here, natch, but if that wood is decent, i would sand it back and maybe just re-stain it in a different finish, perhaps darker, ( see my Manton pic ) seal it, oil and wax finish and that's that. No paint, unless the body wood is shoddy.

It's like the past and the future existing in the same place. It breaks time captain.
Waddo Soqable
I guess I've always had a dislike for the hippy sandwich and all that, so not a fan of "organic" natural really

neil___lien
Hey there! Have U considered staining it? There is some nice grain in that wood. There is probably something that can be done to make it pop some more & then staining the wood purple or green or close to black if that's what U're after.. There is a guy on TB who has done that & has shared pics of his basses quite a few times & they look stunning..
