mike 110 Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Can anybody advise me on the sonic / tonal differences please ?? Ā Thanks š Quote
Baloney Balderdash Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 (edited) A wide range humbucker will pick up and reproduce a wide frequency spectrum, being brighter, and more true to the source, that is the string vibrations on the bass, also being much more articulate and with much better definition, while a mudbucker reproduces a much more narrow frequency range with a lot of the high end frequency content being rolled off, resulting in a dark, boomy and muddy sound, somewhat lacking in articulation and definition in comparison, hence the names. Ā Also the mudbucker will be likely to have much higher output in comparison. Ā Edited May 5, 2023 by Baloney Balderdash Quote

thodrik Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Pretty much as stated by @Baloney BalderdashĀ above. Try a Musicman Stingray and Gibson EB3 one after another and the differences should appear fairly apparent! 1 Quote
