police squad
Having played in a 60s duo/band nearly 25 years ago, I learned lots of Searchers/ Gerry and the Pacemakers/ Freddie and the Dreamers etc So I thought, last chance to see the Searchers. They were incredible. Frank Allen is 80 years old and John Mcnally is 82. Their voices were excellent. Fabulous harmonies, all the high notes were there too Big shout out too, for Spencer James (the new boy, joined in '85). Great Voice If you get the chance to see any of their remaining dates, get along
Grahambythesea
I went to their penultimate concert on their farewell tour. It was excellent (not the first time I’d seen them). So this is their thank you tour, I’m giving it a miss, they are good but really when you hang up your guitar you hang it up!

Franl Allen said it was the first of their 7 comeback tours 🤣 I'd never bothered to go and see them, I don't know why as they always come to Folkestone and that's a short trip for me

Suburban Man
I recorded Mike Pender's Searchers ('we split for musical reasons') at a live gig about 30 years ago and the band members all seemed to be 'getting-on' then, but I guess if you can still sing and play a bit its not a bad back catalogue to run through and they absolutely hit the button on every song. I particularly remember the recording because I naively asked when they were going to do a run through so that I could sort out the levels and was told that the band and their PA engineer didn't need to do a run through - so I just had to sort out the mix during the first number - straight down to stereo in those days.
