Tape wound strings

[Not fretting paul]

I bought some black tape wound strings for my fretless and they are too short as the bass has a trapeze bridge. Would tape wound strings be ok on a fretted bass.

I have a set of black TRU 88’s on one of my P basses.

Should be fine, I’ve had them on a Telecaster bass, a Mustang bass and a Precision, all fretted. They feel and sound great 👍

I have them on several basses. Excellent tones whatever there on.

Yeah I’ve had plenty of fretted basses with tapewounds, and if you get on with the low tension, they sound awesome!
