Following on from, errm, discussion elsewhere... which are your favourite bits of Bond music? Multiple choices.

Had to go for Thunderball on discovering that Tom Jones at the time had no votes.

I love the Bond films, so I find it very difficult to choose my favourite. Sam Smith's insipid effort is probably my least favourite.

However if the original Bond theme is included, on reflection that kinda has to be number one.

Gladys Knight - License to Kill, the best, by a long way.

Worst is the Jack White and Alicia Keys one. It's diabolically bad.

Honourable mention to Radiohead’s Spectre theme, which they were contracted for then rejected. Would have been way better than Sam Smith.

An endless tape loop of a hyena farting through custard would have been better than Sam Smith's whiny, simpering pile of crap. Easily my least favourite JB song.

I think one of the problems with the last 3 Bond themes, Adele/Smith/Eilish is that they've all been written to incorporpate more or less the same elements of John Barry's original score.

Which, to me anyway, has had the unintended consequence of making them all sound pretty much the same, I've got various sections from all 3 in my head and, apart from the choruses,  I'm hard pushed to say which bit belongs to which song.

The result is to make all unmemorable in their own right.

Good to see the correct spelling of Adele's effort 👍

I’ve always thought that there is a positive correlation between the quality of Bond theme tunes and the film itself.

Obviously the correct answer is the one Amy Winehouse would have made if they hadn’t got cold feet about letting her. Although I’ve always thought Love Is A Losing Game was a Bond song just waiting for its film.

In its absence though, anyone who didn’t vote for On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is purely wrong.

David Arnold scored 5 bond films starting with Tommorow Never Dies.

His reworking of OHMSS with the Propellerheads is awesome.

The morse code spells out OHMSS.

I'd forgotten how good the OHMSS theme is. A much maligned Bond film too. I always thought Lazenby was very good as Bond and that ending... 😭

It’s John Barry at his stylistic best. I like the way David Arnold used certain JB motifs, when he took the musical reins. You Know My Name is full of JB type horn arrangements and lines.

It has always been those stringy bits in "You Only Live Twice" that R***ie Williams nicked for Millenium that do it for me.

That and Nancy Sinatra's vocal of course.

OHMSS and YOLT are very similar.

Interesting front runners. I thought L&LD would have been in clear water by now. Nice to see fellow bass players are a bit more diverse in their tastes.
