Hipshot BT1 D Tuner For MM or G&L

Title says it all a Hipshot BT1 D Tuner to fit either a MusicMan or G&L Bass. I had this fitted to a Stingray that I now no longer own. Supplied in its original blister pack with all screws and instructions.

What size is the shaft on this? I'm missing the detuner on my new P.

I'm [i]told[/i] that this will fit a P, but the shaft is shorter, 10mm as opposed to the P 21mm. I've not tried it myself, but I reckon it would look a bit odd.
