Here i am interested if someone prefer to name his favourite basses in definite name like - Tiger, Deamon, Candy, T-rex...etc, or just leave the brand and model !

I call my fave 2015 Fender US Standard Precision Old Friend, seems fitting as we’ve done so much together which has all been good.

No nicknames for me, I usually just call them by their model name - my Jazz, my Musician, and so on. With the colour or the number of strings added if I have more than one.

Only my DB's, the first was a blonde bass called "Marilyn", and now I have a Czech ply bass called "Peaches" that I use for bluegrass and outdoor gigs. My main bass is a Shen SB100 that I call "Wuzzer" because I kept getting asked "wuzzer name"?😊

Generally, no. 'The Stingray', 'The Precision' etc. But when they play the wrong note (it's never me, always them) I sometimes call them names that would be autocorrected on here. 😃

The maple Precision with maple fretless neck is called Sting as it's a replica of the bass Sting played in The Police.

The sunburst fretless Precision is called Starburst after my wife said the colours looks like a starburst.

The black fretless Jazz is called Lisa after my favourite violinist, Lisa Germano.

The fretless Stingray when I owned it was called Pino.

When I used to gig I had two identical Tbirds that I wanted to get used roughly the same. So one was Scott and the other Virgil (after my favourite TV show as a kid) and each had a sticker of the character on the back to tell them apart.

They've already got names, so no.  I sometimes have to resort to colours when explaining which bass I'm talking about to my band members...

BC Rich Warlock - Ravensfriend

Cort T35 - Gloomborn

Epiphone Thunderbird Goth - Angelbane

I’ve also got an Ibanez 7 string, skinny string thing called Mourneblade.

They’re the only ones that have names. The name has to come naturally, else it doesn’t get one.

Two of those are fantasy swords, the other two just came to me.

I don’t but in my old band our guitarist had two Fret King Esprits named (by the band) Whyte and MacKay - after his favourite tipple.

Whyte was, of course, the black one.

The one with an MM4 Status neck, an EMG DC40 neck pickup*, and a J body is naturally Ibiza.

I already have parts for the bridge Sustainiac driver, but have been lazy... should build it to this particular bass.

*I know, 35 i.e. 3.5" wide is for 4 string.

I have such a massive aversion to naming inanimate objects…. like cars and guitars. They’re just things…. not family members.

But each to their own.

Me too, and even worse when they call a car "she"....

Not really.

They're just called "The...[insert manufacturer or model name]"

Except for the Ibanezezes. They're called A,B and C.

As they are an EDA900, EDB605 and EDC715 respectively.

Only exception? My Fiancée calls my G&L "Bluey" because its sort of Greenish.
