I used to play with a guy who used a home made one with his tiny Orange on the 7w setting. LAF it could be but he had it under control so as not to be the loudest thing in the room. Drummer had a volume knob and I was only needing 210 cab and a handful of watts to push all the talkers all the way the back while the boogie folk boogied. Happy days.

Unfortunately, the loudest bugger in our rehearsal room is the sodding bass player.  

 

I keep having to ask the guitarist to turn up! 😮

Right now he's favouring a class-d amp and assorted effects on a floorboard (about 18x12"), which he just jacks into whatever cabs are available.  I suppose this will change again at some point.  He always sounds fine, but part of me just prefers the straight approach, guitar into amp. 

 

Interestingly, our guitarist made a post to Instagram with a photo of what he uses.  Right now it's just this.  He'll jack this into a little Mesa 1x12 (or whatever is available). 

 

Guitar wise, I know he loves mixing things up but more recently he's been favouring an SG or a (quite lovely) gold top Les Paul with P90s.
