lidl e
I didnt even know these things existed. Anyone ever use one? I ordered one for a moses graphite necked bass i have where the nut wall is a bit shallow so the e string pops out. I'm thinking (hoping) this will solve that issue https://www.thomann.de/ie/fender_stealth_string_retainer_bass.htm Charge a lot for a little piece of metal. Lozz196
I’ve put them on all my US Fenders, really help that sometimes pesky A string rattle. I also put it on the low B on a 5 string Precision and it tightened both the string and sound as a result. As it happens @lidl e I still have one up for sale at £15 inc postage in UK, message me if interested. I saw someone in the reviews saying the string tension caused it to bend upwards a bit.

Yes I’ve used them for years, with pretty high tension (Rotosound & Warwick) steel rounds with no problems.
fretmeister
It's a really smart idea, but the price is a bit steep. I wonder if they just don't sell enough of them to have a lower price point.

Aye, but im hoping it will save me 100 quid from having to get a new nut installed and cut.

Possibly because it has to be a pretty strong little piece of metal. If you insist on having 1) Fenders and 2) headstocks, it does seem like quite a good idea. lidl e
Put it on and it did solve my string slipping issue. Doesnt seem to do much for the angle on the E string over the nut. I'd say it is more suited for the A string.
Supernaut
More suited for the A string but the fix is simple - don't cut your A when installing new strings. The extra wraps help push the string down to get the angle needed at the nut.
