Given a brand new circuit with all up to date mods which address some noise issues. Neve style preamp with gain stages and hi/lo gain options. It’s actually a really useful studio tool too. This is a preamp/di/drive which sounds excellent on just about any source. HPF filter is set at 160hz but the semi para eq means you can experiment with the “Pultec trick” of boosting the lows or low mids right where the filter kicks in. Only I have an all tube preamp I’d keep this. Had it paired with an all tube di and it was a killer combination! This is basically brand new! The way the transformer can colour a kick drum or snare or drive some overheads. I know so much can be done in the box but getting that source signal right is a nice skill to have. Im gonna pop the colour box back on my board tomorrow (gigging tonight) and hear how it’s sounds after some small board changes the other week. I already have some transformers (two in line plus one on my di out!) so I’m already getting that mojo.
