This is the holy grail of bass and double bass amplification. It’s renowned and unrivalled for its legendary clear sound and light weight portability. This amp is used and revered by some of the finest players: John Patitucci, James Genus, Richard Bona, Victor Wooten, Chick Corea, Jim Hall...
These amps are rare, particularly the blue light model. It is the most powerful of the Walter Woods amps. This piece is in perfect condition and comes with a gig bag. I’m selling as I’m no longer touring/gigging.

does this amp sound like the older ones? Some of them has a tube charm. How Would you Description the tone?

Hi Dietmar,

 

Like all the Walter Woods amps that I have tried, I would say that the best way to describe them is that they are very neutral sounding. In fact they are the most neutral sounding amps that I have ever tried. The eq is powerful so you can play around depending on the room's acoustics or if you have a specific tone you are looking for, but essentially the magic is in its ability to amplify a sound without over colouring it. Daft as it sounds, that is no mean feat, especially when amplifying acoustic/electro-acoustic instruments.

These neutral properties are equally appreciated in good electric instruments that just need amplification rather than tone shaping; which is why many electric players use them too.
