Bespoke Upright Bass - *SOLD* £400 Bristol

You don’t see many of these (possibly a reason for that!).

 

It’s a Bespoke Upright Bass hand built in the UK.

 

I picked this up recently and it’s really interesting! The woods and construction are fascinating and the frame is a step

up from the normal EUB. 
 

It’s a full size bridge which is very rare on an EUB. The notches are quite deeply cut and the nut is a bit crude. It’s a quirky instrument that will, if you have a spanner, come apart in about 5 minutes, so it’s ultra portable! 

 

Looking for £400.

 

Currently stung with Golden Slaps and fitted with a pickup. If you don’t want the pickup, I’ll sell for £350.

 

Collection preferred as I’m not sure how I’ll package it up!

 

Ask if you need more snaps. Reason for sale is poverty, a lack of space, and the dawning realisation that I’ll be replaced by AI within the next few years.

I honestly don’t know. Currently has Golden Slaps which aren’t a string to bow (and I don’t bow). I assume it wouldn’t be good.

Yes! Handmade by a chap in the south of England. It can be dismantled and rebuilt quickly, which is interesting. It’s a genuine 3/4 which is good and has a full size bridge (which many EUBs don’t). This one has plastic feet which enable you to tilt the bridge. Quite why I don’t know. It can make changing strings a bit of a challenge as it has a tendency to move.

 

I should also mention that the machine heads / tuning pegs are not a matched pair. This is how it was when built.
