Anyone tried a Squier Sonic P yet?

Have a hankering for a P but prefer a thinner neck and body. 

 

Love the feel of the Aerodynes, but a bit spendy and not keen on the current colours. 

 

Not scared of cheap Chinese stuff, have a Bullet Mustang that I've had great fun fixing up and is probably my most played guitar atm.......

 

Tempted to just order one and see what turns up, but I know that they'll probably vary quite a bit (took a while to find a nice Mustang). 

 

Anyone seen one in the wild yet?

I think they are Indonesian not Chinese

The Blue looks nice with the maple, swap in a set of white pup covers...

Have not tried that! I have a feeling that the sunburst one is going to be the next bass I buy. Hopefully not anytime soon!

Picked up a sunburst one last week, stuck in an EMG pickup and high mass bridge. Honestly, for the money it's a great bass and the neck is very fast to play. Radius is listed as 9.5 but feels like a 12.

Is it light as people say?

Is it neck heavy/a neck diver?

Tried one out the other day, good bass, not the be all and end all but non the less, a solid instrument.

I haven't tried any of the Sonic basses, but I'm getting one of the Telecasters for my daughter. It's a decent instrument, well put together and plays nicely. I'd imagine the basses are of a similar quality.

Quick update. 

 

Tried both the Sonic P's in stock at Promenade in Morecambe.  Great consistency QC and weight wise, amazed at the quality for the price. 

 

Only thing I couldn't get on with was the big gap between the E and G and the edges of the fretboard, felt like the already narrow neck was still too wide for the string spacing. 

Bugger. Lovely otherwise. 

 

Tried every other 4 string P type they had and ended up buying a Yamaha 734a!

My word, what a beautiful instrument. 

Bloody heavy, not what I thought I wanted, but I just fell for it. 

Played it non stop since. 

 

Delightful shop, lovely staff, very happy.
