HOW hard is it to find a decent band to play in these days?

I've told the others in the project/band/whatever that I won't be going any further with it. 

 

I'm meeting up with a friend this week that I used to be in a band with. Maybe we'll be able to get something off the ground that's a bit more focused.

 

Were any of the others who you'd recruited worth hanging on to, or did they all lack commitment?

Unfortunately not. Best to try and find a whole new set up I think.

... 15 months later and I'm in a band.

 

I've been in a band with the guitarist before and I've known the drummer for some time.  It's the singers first band experience and she's got bags of enthusiasm. We've only done a few practices so far. We're all doing our homework,  but we're also successfully trying out songs on the spot at practice. We're making changes to songs to work for the instrument line up.

 

... and we're being offered gigs.

 

Fingers crossed we'll be out and about very soon. It all feels very positive

After longer than I can remember searching for something other than the two semi-active originals bands I've been in for ages, I've got an audition in a couple of weeks. 5 cover songs, nailed them already and will continue to embed them every day until I go.

 

"Just bring a bass, you won't need backline, the sound guy will sort everything for you."

 

It's OK to take a DI + comp, right?

Absolutely! You'll be prepared if the promised sonic nirvana doesn't materialise, but you don't have to use it...
