Simple geography. California sun makes everyone some kinda blonde.

If that was true, why are the original native inhabitants of California almost universally black haired? Blondes are from cold areas.

You must have a different meaning for geography.

 

People who start out a little bit blonde get bleached by the sun. Back when the photo was taken it was fashionable to accelerate the process with the addition of lemon juice. Hence the blondini gang in the photo.
